Heroescon Information!

We'll be at tables 23-25, right near Indie Island!  You should come by and see us, it'll be me, Pickles (http://www.distillum.com/), Heidi (http://www.electricabyss.com/), and Sarah (http://fifthzoa.blogspot.com/), and we'll be there ALL weekend, hawking our wares, drawing the pictures, and generally just being awesome.  You should drop by and say hi!

RSG Ch 2 P 8

That last panel, i know, i knowoooooo....

But I gotta crank out page 9 by Thursday.  Honestly, I like Page 9's design, i hope the layout isnt too hard to read, and I hope you guys enjoy it.  Til then, here's eight...  I tried subtle dutching on the first four panels, it was too subtle though.  First time trying dutch angles, my first semester at SCAD, i was told that they're kinda cheap and hokey, so I was on the fence about it.  Next time. I'll only dutch one, and make it extreme (that'd be the third panel that would get the extreme dutch).  C&C please

RSG Ch 2 P 6

My only real problem with these sorts of layouts is that I feel guilty about the 'wasted' space.  What do you guys thing?  Crits and comments greatly appreciated.

Ready Set Go Chapter 2 Page 5 Inks

Not really sure why, but this page took awhile.  Glad its finally done though.  I'll be starting page six tonight, hopefully I'll finish it.

Wheee!  There are already things I would change if I were to redo this page.  But I'm not redoing it!  I would appreciate critique, however, and if the changes don't make my eyes bleed, I'll do em after finals.  Even if the thought of those changes make me cry tears of blood, I'll apply the criticism to future pages, so it's win win for me.

Thanks everyone who's already given me criticism, I really do appreciate it.  You guys are helping me become a better artist, and I'm grateful for your input.

RSG Ch2 P 4

I started this around 1pm and finished it just now, 1am.  12 hours and a cramped hand.  I have a problem with my layers shifting as I work, which is pretty obnoxious.  Even locked layers will shift.  Anyone know what's causing this?

Tsk, you lose Julia's shoes at this size.  This isnt the size the comic'll be in, but I should still probably thicken the white outline around her shoes or just go ahead and make them entirely white (probably the better idea).  I should thicken the outline on big Remi too.

RSG Ch 2 P 3 Inks

This page took three attempts to complete.  Every time it was nearly finished, I would save it, and my laptop would corrupt the file, and I had to start all over again.  I figured the first time was improper saving on my part, the second time showed me that I needed to move my work over to my desktop instead.  So while I would usually appreciate critique, the page you're looking at is the result of two all nighters and a very cramped hand.  It's definately shakey in parts, but I'm glad the inks are finally finished.

Inks for Page 1 of RSG Ch 2

Here's a very ugly/rough copy of RSG Ch2 Page 1.  All those blurry dots aren't blurry in the real version.  I'd love to get some criticism on this, but unless a problem is GLARINGLY bad, it won't get corrected (at least, any time soon).  All criticism will go to future pages, though.

Art Dump

Still working on tweaking this blog, so I'm sorry if it's unattractive.  I'm going to try and consistently update my blog once a week with artdumps, and I'm currently working on a Flickr account that streams to this blog, so my comics will be available for easy viewing.  I'm going to also try to update with a larger variety of content, and I'll be start up my livestream again soon.  I'm sorry I'm not more consistent with these sorts of things, grad school keeps me busy and I often forget to update.  I am going to work on that.  I'm also working on a number of things- the second chapter for my one day webcomic, Ready Set Go, a script for a superhero story called Hypertrophy, as well as various school assignments and preparing for tomorrow's Editors' Day.  So in general, I'm going to try to up the quality of this blog, not only in design but also in content.

Ready Set Go Chapter 2 Pencils:

I'm working on the first nine pages of chapter 2 for my Studio I class.  My goal is to figure out a sustainable working schedule so I can begin updating it on a regular basis.  I'm reluctant to put it up on my website until I can figure out a schedule.  These pages will be inked digitally.

Ready Set Go Prologue Pencils

Two of the friends who proofed Chapter 1 complained that they would've liked a better introduction to Remi, so the prologue is basically a tour of her room and an introduction to her character.  Show, not tell, I know, I know.
